The comments reflect concerns that the government has set its G8 presidency ambitions too high, at the risk of letting down lobby groups.
Kent Police Authority and Shepway Council are holding a public meeting at Saltwood Village Hall, The Green, Saltwood, Hythe on Thursday 14 July at 7.30pm. The meeting is designed to give local people from Hythe and Saltwood the opportunity to express their views on crime and disorder and discuss how the area is policed. Police officers will be attending, along with other community representatives.
Hythe Lib Dem campaigners Sam Matthews and Darren Briddock have reacted with delight to the news that the Olympic Games have been awarded to London. With a new sports centre planned for Hythe and backed by the Lib Dems, they hope it will lead to a huge increase in interest for sport amongst local young people over the next few years.
