Local Committees encouraged to implement more 20 mph zones

The introduction of more 20 mph zones in appropriate locations throughout Surrey moved a step closer today with the passing of a Liberal Democrat motion proposed by Cllr David Goodwin (Guildford South West) and seconded by Cllr John Doran (Horsell). This highlighted research showing that the chances of being killed as a pedestrian when hit by a vehicle double between 30 mph and 35 mph.

After a number of complaints about the incomplete crossing on Clayton By-Pass and the treacherous road crossing, Simon has held a meeting with the regional manager for Tesco, who committed themselves to building the crossing as part of their Congleton store. After pushing them, Simon has established that the new crossing will be open withing two months.
