Since taking control of the Council the Lib Dems have made it a priority to compulsory purchase abandoned buildings to improve the local street scene and increase the number of houses available in the City. Community Centre Pedestrian Refuge

Local Councillors Mark Farmer and Dean Ramsdale have successfully asked the Council to install a pedestrian refuge outside the Eyres Monsell Community Centre on Hillsborough Road. They said, "this will assist people in crossing this busy road. In particular it will benefit elderly residents using the bus stops on Hillsborough Road and the Sturdee Road slip-road."
