At the West End, Hedge End and Botley Local Area Committee (HEWEB LAC) this evening outline plans were approved for the construction of 3 storey development with 4 ground floor retail units and 7 residential flats on 1st and 2nd floor following demolition of existing building which currently consists of the Ted Keogh's jewellers and watch repair shop, barbers and the bakers. After more local residents spoke in favour of the plans than spoke against.

Local MP Tim Farron has challenged the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust to solve its recruitment crisis. In recent statements, the trust has conceded that it is having to close beds at the Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal because it doesn't have enough staff.
The North West Ambulance Service Trust has improved its communications with First Responders (CFR) volunteers across Cumbria following pressure from local MP Tim Farron and others. The Trust has started issuing a monthly 'Team Brief', and is holding a number of meetings across the county to talk about improvements to the CFR scheme.
