The sheer quantity of raw sewage being dumped into Britain’s rivers and coastal areas is a scandal and a disgrace.

New Shops on High Street

Epping High Street has attracted the interest of significant national shop chains in recent months. First Costa Coffee moved into the old Dixons store, followed by Holland and Barrett who took over the empty Co-op chemists store. Local Lib Dem councillors welcomed the fact that they have kept the 'traditional-style' bow windows and repainted the shop front attractively. "This is a real contrast to some shops which don't appear to think about the impact of their facias or let the corporate identity override everything," said town councillor Janet Hedges.

Speeches show Tories split with no clear direction

The Conservative Party has admitted that it made almost no progress at the last general election and that its policies have lost the confidence of the British people. Eight years since they lost office, they are still damaged goods, with falling poll ratings and no clear direction. Whoever becomes leader, they remain split down the middle and out of touch with the public, leaving the Liberal Democrats as the only effective opposition to the Labour Government.
