Many residents of Richmond Road told the Park Ward Liberal Democrat Focus Team that they were worried by the speeds of cars travelling past their houses. The Focus Team is only too aware that excessive speed is not only dangerous but is highly disturbing for residents.

Liberal Democrats stand up for Surrey Residents
Liberal Democrat County Councillors tried at today's council meeting to ensure that priorities important to Surrey residents are included in the Council's formal list of priorities for the next four years. Hazel Watson, Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on the County Council, said: "The Conservative administration's plans need to be clearer and more specific. Important priorities are missing from the Conservatives' plans."

MINISTER'S OFF-HAND COMMENTS ON RETIREMENT AGE WON'T INSPIRE PUBLIC TRUST - LAWS
The Pensions Minister, Stephen Timms, caused controversy today, remarking that as the increase in the state pension age for women has not been very controversial, 'why not add one or two years on at the end'. He made the off-hand comment at the press launch of the new report on retirement and pensions by the Institute of Public Policy Research. The report proposes that people in the workforce should have to work until they are 67 before they receive a state pension.
