Cheriton Councillor Tim Prater has contacted Shepway Council to ask them to cut the grass verge be cut around the "Military Road" street sign at the bend where Risborough Lane turns into Military Road.

Savage Post Office Closures in Bedford Borough Announced

Post Office Ltd has announced that eight local branches in Bedford Borough are to close as part of the Labour Government's savage cull of 2,500 branches nationwide. The list of branches to be closed has changed slightly from the one released accidentally due to an internet blunder in November last year, with the branch situated in the Budgens store on Kimbolton Road reprieved but with the Stewartby and 193 Goldington Road (Junction with Polhill/Newnham Avenue) branches added.

M20 Stop24 service area loses EAT

The "EAT" outlet at the troubled Stop24 service area at J11 of the M20 closed on Friday 4th July, causing a number of redundancies. The outlet's loss comes after the closure of "Muffinbreak" shortly after the opening of the service area, and is being blamed on lack of trade and poor users numbers to the service area.
