The sheer quantity of raw sewage being dumped into Britain’s rivers and coastal areas is a scandal and a disgrace.
Liberal Democrat Leader, Nick Clegg today received medals handed to him from Gurkhas who served in the British Army before 1997 and are being denied a full pension and the right to British Citizenship.
Bedford Borough council should act to save local post offices from closure, say Liberal Democrats. Bedford Borough Lib Dems have demanded that the Mayor and his Cabinet do more than simply oppose closures and take real action to save vital branches ahead of the announcement in July of the list of local post offices in the set to be shut. The calls follow news of a range of plans by other local authorities to save threatened branches from the government's programme of 2,500 post office closures, including taking over the running of post offices.
Former Gurkha soldiers and their supporters from across the Country have been welcomed to Westminster today by Lib Dem Leader Nick Clegg. Liberal Democrat Lords have launched a Bill in the House of Lords to try to change the law regarding the right for all Gurkhas to remain in the UK.

Rail commuters are hoping major engineering works taking place during the Easter break will be completed on time.
