Government 'twisting and turning' but ID Cards still not justified

The government has set out changes to its planned identity scheme - including allowing people to use new "biometric" passports instead of getting ID cards. The plans for ID cards, linking personal data to a fingerprint, have been plagued by technical delays, budget overspend and political controversy.

Liberal Democrats fight for Vioxx victims

This week a group of Liberal Democrat MPs, including Health Spokesman Norman Lamb, Tim Farron and Jenny Willott, met with lawyers for victims of Vioxx to discuss the situation of British sufferers of Vioxx, who have been denied access to justice by the US courts. Both Tim and Jenny have constituents who have suffered heart attacks and are trying to take legal action.

Lib Dem Regional Conference Coming to Kent

The first of two annual South East Liberal Democrat conferences is coming up on Saturday 29th March in Ashford. Speakers will include Susan Kramer, Norman Baker, David Heath and Baroness Ros Scott. It looks set to be a great event - and all Party members are welcome to attend.
