Kennedy: We need long-term solutions to rebuild society

In a keynote speech on public policy, Charles Kennedy today set out how he sees that society has changed - both for better and for worse. Mr Kennedy examined the negative effects that the breakdown of tight knit communities has had upon society, and how this has contributed to the problem of anti-social behaviour, particularly in our young people. Mr Kennedy attacked the Labour government's quick-fix solution to this problem.

Bamford should be in Rochdale says William Hobhouse!

Bamford Councillor - William Hobhouse has been joined by dozens of local residents in his battle for Bamford, Brimrod, Marland, Oakenrod and Sudden to remain in the Rochdale Parliamentary Constituency. The Boundary Commission have recommended that this be the case but the Conservative Party have asked for the whole area to go into Heywood and Middleton.
