Dundee Liberal Democrats have today (Tuesday 25th March) backed comments by the Party's Scottish Energy spokesperson Liam McArthur MSP in giving support to the Scottish Renewables campaign for Ministers to get started on a zero carbon economy.
Liberal Democrat MP Tim Farron today challenged the nation's major supermarkets - Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's - to follow suit with their competitor Morrisons and source their meat from Britain. Morrisons announced last week that they would now source all beef from Britain, in addition to their already British lamb, pork and poultry, and Farron has written to the other major supermarkets asking them to follow suit. Furthermore, Mr Farron has posted a parliamentary motion, in order to gain support for this cause from his parliamentary colleagues.

Paul Rowen, Lib Dem Work and Pension's Shadow Minister has written to energy company E.On to ask them to get 'their priorities right'. Paul has acted after uncovering that E.On spent £32 million sponsoring the FA Cup and only £4.4 million on helping its elderly customers. The figure of £4.4 million is derisory when you consider that in the last year alone the German firm made a profit of £777 Million.
Rochdale MP Paul Rowen has written to the Chief Executive of the Co-operative Group asking them to look into taking over an empty shop on 'The Cray' in the Town. Mr Rowen reacted after being contacted by Councillor Jean Ashworth and speaking to local residents. The shop was closed after the previous owner fell behind with her rent. It is owned by Rochdale Boroughwide Housing - an arms length management organisation.
On Friday, Paul Holmes Liberal Democrat MP for Chesterfield is holding two public meetings with the Law Society's Legal Complaints Service to advise miners and their families who believe they may have paid money out of their compensation that should really be theirs.
