A lull in Council meetings provides an opportunity to mention other aspects of a Councillors' duty. I can only speak for my Ward colleagues, Councillors Susette and Monroe Palmer but I am sure other Councillors are, also, like us constantly in touch with residents about a whole range of local issues.

Farron announces New Deal to help British farmers produce more food

British food is disappearing from our supermarket shelves according to Liberal Democrat Defra Shadow Secretary of State Tim Farron, who has accused the Labour Government of presiding over savage cuts in our domestic food production and ignoring the environmental impact of the increasing amount of food being imported into the UK.

Walker Darke elected to City's Youth Council

When Wolverhampton's Mayor, Councillor Christine Mills, declared the results of the city's 2009 Youth Elections in the Council Chamber, one of the successful candidates was Walker Darke, the youngest member of Wolverhampton South West Liberal Democrats. Walker is the son of Park Ward Councillor Claire Darke and Dr Paul Darke. He attends St. Edmund's School.
