Liberal Democrats in Wolverhampton have expressed outrage at the Labour Party's inflation-busting Council Tax increase of 4.75%, Park Ward Liberal Democrat Councillor Robin Lawrence said "This rise is more than twice the rate of inflation, how are people supposed to be able to afford this increase with pay and pensions not increasingly nearly as much, the rise is even worse for residents of Wolverhampton Homes who have recently seen a massive increase in rent as well."
Chelmsford Liberal Democrats have launched a consultation over the scheme to redevelop the Riverside Leisure Centre. The current proposal, which would leave Chelmsford without the outdoor pool and no indoor diving facilities at Riverside, was proposed with scant regard for the views of the public who use this facility.
It has been revealed this week that Old Moulsham will not be receiving any EXTRA money for local improvements - only the money long planned for the central Chelmsford area. During the Moulsham & Central by-election, Lord Hanningfield (Conservative County Council Leader) promised that Old Moulsham would be benefiting from an extra £15 million investment in footpath and road repairs in Chelmsford.

The Liberal Democrats have repeated their call for the government database containing details on every child in the UK to be scrapped, following the publication today of an independent review into its security. Information about every child's name, address, their parents or guardians, as well as contact details for each government service they use, was going to be added to the ContactPoint database. The accountants' report says the database could never be secure. Lib Dems have attacked the Government for refusing to publish the full report.
