Wolverhampton South West Chair, Robin Lawrence, was contacted by several groups of parents determined to discover what had happened to the infants' swings in West Park. This well-used amenity is much was loved by local children and it certainly came as a shock to discover that the swings in question had been removed by Wolverhampton Council. Robin Lawrence swung into action to answer parents' concerns. Robin is pleased to report that the swings should be returned to the West Park by the end of November once the necessary repairs have been made.
It's all change on Rochdale Borough Council's Cabinet - as Councillor David Clayton swaps positions with Councillor Irene Davidson. Councillor Clayton has decided to stand aside as he thought there may be a possible conflict of interest in the future as his wife teaches at Balderstone Technology College. David will now become the Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care and Councillor Irene Davidson will become Cabinet Member for Children's School's and Families. Constitutionally this may have to wait for formal ratification but the 2 Cabinet Members will swap positions with immediate effect.
News that the Labour Government has paid out £2.7bn in fraudulent and incorrect claims to benefit claimants in the last financial year has resulted in Dundee LibDems today (Monday 13th November) calling the Labour Government "a total failure" in tackling benefit fraud.
